Leroy Robert Baker, a beloved husband of 56 years to Patricia Ann Baker, passed away on April 16th, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born on December 9th, 1941, in Williamsport, Maryland, to Pauline Baker.

Leroy proudly served as a Flight Engineer in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1968, serving in the Vietnam War. He was proud of his service and his commitment to his country and fellow service members. His commitment was truly admirable and will always be remembered.

Leroy met his present wife Patricia, and they were married on July 10th, 1968. He was a loving husband and devoted father to their four children: Brian (Brittany), Dawn (Clint), Denise (Kenneth), and Dana. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always putting the needs of his family first and taking great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. His selflessness and love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

He resided most of his life in the Hagerstown and Smithsburg Maryland, graduating from South Hagerstown High School. Leroy had a superior work ethic and began his career as a life insurance sales manager. He later worked for many years as a dedicated postal service worker, where he eventually retired. Leroy was respected by his colleagues for his dedication and hard work.

Leroy was a straightforward and honest man, always speaking his mind. He had a reputation for being there for his family and friends in their times of need, and his dedication to helping others was a true testament to his character. He had a passion for working on his Corvette, spending countless hours ensuring every detail was perfect. He also loved spending time in his garden and landscaping, creating a beautiful outdoor space for his family and friends to enjoy.

A visitation for Leroy is planned for Friday, April 21st, 2023, from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Minnich Funeral Home, located at 415 E Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. Friends and family are invited to attend. Graveside services will immediately follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Leroy Robert Baker.
