Leon Donovan Spickler, 81, a resident of Somerford Place in Hagerstown, passed away January 4, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born January 15, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Clinton Victor and Louise Jane (Hoffman) Spickler.

Leon retired with 38 years of service as Office Manager at Supreme Concrete Block Company, Winchester, VA. He was an Indian artifact collector and true outdoorsman. His passion was his second home in the mountains of West Virginia.

He is survived by one son, Jeffrey W. Spickler, and wife, Denise; one daughter, Robin S. (Spickler) Gilbert, and husband, Wayne; two granddaughters, Taylor (Spickler) Winter, and husband, Anthony, Smithsburg, MD, and Sydney (Gilbert) Emmer, and husband, Andrew, Montclair, NJ.

Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lou (Weaver) Spickler, on November 30, 2022; and one brother, Gary W. Spickler.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

Graveside services will be private.
