LELIA CATHERINE SHANK MORRIS SHANHOLTZ, 85, of 226 Nottingham Road, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at her home. Born June 14, 1922 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Ritter and Sarah Jane Socks Shank. She was employed with the Washington County Hospital. She was a member of the Salvation Army since April of 1977; a member of the Home League since October of 1978, and a member of the American Legion, Funkstown She is survived by her husband, James R. Shanholtz; three daughters, Barbara Fitzgerald, and Sonya Meldron, both of Hagerstown, and Cathy Koontz of Sharpsburg, Maryland; and ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Margaret Whitmore, Edna West, Helen Barger, Gladys Myers, and Edith McKenzie; one son, Woodrow Morris; one grandson, Shane Meldron; and one great-grandson, Derrick Knipe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Major Todd Hawks will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m.
