Obituary

LAURA MARIE BINAU, 58, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital. Born October 29, 1950 in Williamsport, MD, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Ruth Elizabeth Boyles Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, where married on July 4, 1969, Alvin B. Binau, Jr. who died November 15, 2007. She was a 1968 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was employed with Coffman Nursing Home as activities co-ordinator. She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and was on the church choir. She was a member of Maryland Activities Coordinators for twelve years. Also a member of three red hat groups, Rubies with Hattitudes, Antiquities and founding member and Queen of the Western Maryland Red Hat Girls. She is survived by one brother, J. William "Bill" Jones of North Richland Hills, Texas: three nephews, Douglas Jones, Travis Jones and John Binau; four nieces, Kimberly Kidd, Anna Binau, Renee Binau and Hannah Binau; one great niece and 2 great nephews. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev Dr. James E. Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Western Maryland Hospital Center Foundation, c/o Leon Catlett, 16746 Spielman Road, Fair Play, Maryland 21733.
