Larry Donald Williams, 76, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away, Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born July 27, 1945, in Petersburg, WV, he was the son of the late John Kaylor and Helen Louise (Smith) Williams.
Larry was a 1963 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He served as a Hagerstown Fire Fighter, Local 1605, for 35 years and will be missed by his partner, Andy Hartman and all of his close friends and colleagues. He was a member of Funkstown American Legion, Redman Club, Elks Lodge, the NRA, and was president of the Windy Hollow Hunt Club.
Larry served in the Army National Guard for six years. He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid gardener who loved farming, especially taking care of his chickens and Blacky the goat. He was a carpenter by trade and built the Smokehouse for the Children's Village of Hagerstown. Larry, also enjoyed playing Bar Bingo at the Clear Spring Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Williams; two sons, John Williams (Leighann Wattenschaidt) and Jimmy Williams; two granddaughters, Brook Gockman, and husband, Chevy, and Tori Williams; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Gockman and Amiyah Santiago; one half-sister, Rose Garrison and special cousin, Connie Rosso, and husband, John.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Bill Divelbiss will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
