Larry Douglas "Doug" Artz, 70, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Sterling Care South Mountain in Boonsboro, MD.

Born August 15, 1953, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Larry B. and Joyce Virginia (Harshman) Artz.

Doug graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1971. He went to Georgia Institute of Technology. He was employed by Matonak & Associates in Hagerstown and worked on the Artz farm outside Funkstown.

He was an active member of Tri-State Farm Toy Club, Hagerstown Civil War Roundtable, and Lionel Collectors Club. He was a member of the former Hagerstown WWII Roundtable.

Doug is survived by his wife, Kim Artz; two sisters, Joy Leon and Robin Carlson; one brother, Gary Artz; and five nephews and one niece.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD. Chaplain Vlad Corea will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 6-8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
