L. RUTH KOONTZ, 56, of 14702 Clear Spring Road, Williamsport, Maryland, died on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown. Born October 23, 1953 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of Lina Ruth Horst of Hagerstown, and the late Abram Horst. She was employed by Antietam Health Services at Robinwood Medical Center. She was a member of the Pinesburg Baptist Church. She was a member of the Gad Abouts Square Dancing Club. She is survived by her husband, John Koontz; two sons, Timothy Ivan Koontz, and Joshua David Koontz, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Rhoda Mathews of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Rachel Mobley of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Rebecca Clever of Clear Spring, Maryland; and two brothers, Thomas Horst, and Marvin Horst, both of Maugansville, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, 13523 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740 on Saturday at 10:30 a. m. Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.
