Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Leedy, Jr., 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Julia Manor Nursing Home.

Born June 16, 1936, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Kathryn (Stains) and Kenneth E. Leedy, Sr.

He worked at Brandt Cabinet Works for 25 years, Duvinage, and retired from NVR in Thurmont, MD.

Kenneth was a life member of Moose International, former member of Sons of the Legions in Funkstown, and F.O.E 694 where he was a former officer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, and attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leitersburg, MD.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Erma M. Leedy; daughter, Kendra Scharenbroch (husband, Rick); five grandchildren, Corey Scharenbroch (Fiancé, Amber), Bryce Scharenbroch, Christopher Dellinger (wife, Carley), Michael Dellinger (wife, Nichole), and Lindsay Fernandez; six great grandchildren, Blake, Bailey, Kennedy, Lydia, Theodore, and Benjamin; sister, Donna Miner (husband, Paul); brother, Gregory Leedy (fiancé, Jean); and two sons-in-law, William Blaine Dellinger and Ronald Pfeiffer.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra M. Dellinger and Nanette M. Pfeiffer; three sisters, Beverly Coldsmith, Connie Younker, and Carolyn Shuman; and his brother, Charles "Bud" Leedy.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Rev. Mike Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300, Hagerstown, MD 21740; or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 21513 Leitersburg Smithsburg Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
