Kathy Marie Shedd, 59, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center. Born November 18, 1956 in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of Elmer and Elsie Long of Hagerstown. Kathy was employed with Potomac Center for 16 years. In addition to her parents, Kathy is survived by her husband, Richard E. Shedd, Sr.; one son, Dillon Shirley and wife, Susan, of Falling Waters, WV; three sisters, Linda Funkhouser and husband, Scott, of Falling Waters, WV, Freda Suffecool of Hagerstown, and Eva Ramos and husband, Jose, of Baltimore, MD; one brother, John Long and friend, Janet, of Hagerstown; two nieces, Angela Tritch and Jessica Long; and two nephews, Joshua and Jacob Ramos. She was preceded in death by one niece, Bobbi Renee Snyder. A Memorial Service will be held 11am Monday, October 17, 2016 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Bill Divelbiss will officiate. A repass will follow the service at Greenbrier Baptist Church, 20810 National Pike, Boonsboro, MD. Kathy loved her cats, so the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to be made to The Humane Society of Washington County, 3011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
