KATHLEEN ELSIE SLICK, 88, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Family was the most important part of her life. She loved and was loved dearly by her family. Born on September 12, 1923; she was the daughter of late Frederick L. Slick, Sr. and Elsie Barnhart - Slick. She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School She retired from Maidstone as Office Manager in 1987. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church for 77 years. She was active in the Fidelity Sunday School Class and served as Treasurer for numerous years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was active in Missions programs and attended conferences in FL. She was a volunteer for the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary where she served as treasurer. She was a member of the Hagerstown Business and Professional Women's Association. She volunteered at Lincolnshire Elementary in the Reading Mentor Program. She has survived by the following siblings; Betty J. Byers and husband, Roy of Hagerstown and Jack W. Slick and wife, Ginny of Clear Spring MD; and sister-in-law, Patricia Slick of Hagerstown, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick L. Slick, Jr. and William H. Slick. Graveside service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Robison will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, from 6 t0 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
