Karen Ann Hammond, 65, of Gapland, MD, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at her home.

Born October 6, 1960 in Sagamihara, Japan, she was the daughter of the late William Clarence and Eliabeth Marie (Logan) Hurley. Karen was also preceded in death by her adopted parents, Robert and Mary Millard.

Karen was a member of the Air National Guard. She loved her animals and being barefoot on the farm.

Karen is survived by her husband, David Hammond; five children, Heather Millard, Tiffany Pendergast, Jeffery Hammond, Amanda Ward, and Brittany Ward; and five grandchildren, Anastasia, Leah, Tyler, Lola, and Gabriel.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at John Rudolph Brown Cemetery at her family farm in Gapland with Pastor Charles Holder officiating.
