Julie May Jackowski passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. Born on December 21, 1981, in Amsterdam, NY, Julie's zest for life and her unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love for her family, a passion for the natural world, and an artistic soul that found expression in every aspect of her life. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Skyler Mentzer and John Lucas Mentzer, and her partner, Donald Green, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Julie's role as a grandmother to Naomi was one she cherished deeply, and the bond they shared was truly special.

Julie's father, Alfred Jackowski, sister, Cristie Gollinger and her husband Steve, as well as her brother, Daniel Jackowski and his wife Sarah, will remember Julie as a guiding light, a source of strength, and a confidante. Julie's love extended to her many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, who will miss her presence and her infectious laughter.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne, and the father of her children, John Luther Mentzer.

Julie's love for the outdoors was constant throughout her life. She found solace and excitement in training horses, a skill she honed with patience and grace. Her artistic talents were evident in the beautiful pictures she painted, capturing the essence of the world as she saw it. An adventurous spirit, Julie enjoyed hunting for mushrooms in the quiet of the forest, watching motor sports, and simply being outside, where she felt most at home.

Above all, Julie's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She nurtured and supported her loved ones with every fiber of her being, and her legacy of love, resilience, and creativity will live on in their hearts forever.

Julie's life was a testament to the beauty that can be found in the everyday, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain a guiding force for all who loved her.

There will be a Gathering of Friends from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD.
