JULIA ALMA MILLER, 94, of 2011 Starlight Lane, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital. Born Au gust 24, 1916 in Spencer, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Alma Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Miller. She was a teacher in the Washington County schools. She was a 60 year member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a past president of the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, a life member of Eastern Star, past president of Funkstown and Washington County Homemakers, and an alumni of West Virginia University. She volunteered with the Commission on Aging, and loved to be with her friends playing cards. She is survived by three daughters, Carlotta Miller Budd of Madison, New Jersey, Judith R. Miller of Brookline, Massachusetts, and Julie L. Miller of Hagerstown; three grandsons, James S. Budd, and his wife, Susan, of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, Robert T. Budd, and his wife, Julie of Melrose, Massachusetts, and Charles L. Budd, and his wife, Grace, of London, England; one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Headlee, and June Griggs; and one brother, James E. Miller. The family will receive guests 2:00 p. m. Sunday, November 28 at John Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Patrick Ricker will officiate. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p. m. Sunday at the church. Private graveside service will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
