Julia Lavern Jones, 86, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away at home on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Born August 9, 1933 in Blackstone, VA, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Edna (Terry) Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Geraldine "Bunny" Jones and Agatha "Gatha" Blunt-Dorsey; four sisters, Hilda Jones, Ellen Terry, Edna Brown, and Queen Cephas; and one brother, Richard Lee Jones. Julia is survived by one daughter, Ivy "Joy" McClaim; two sons, James E. Jones, Sr. and Antione Jones; five grandchildren, Tiffany Jones, Angel Burnett, James Jones, Jr., Deon Toner, and Latarsha Jones; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A great and loving grandma who will be dearly missed. The funeral service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Robert Burnett will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family, payable to James Jones, Sr.
