Juanita Joy Moxley, 90, passed away December 24, 2010, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown following a brief illness. Born on May 23, 1920, in Magnolia, Arkansas to the late James Hugh Johnston and Edna Ruth Moreland Johnston, Juanita was known for her warm, friendly nature. She was a resident of Hilltop Assisted Living at Homewood in Williamsport. Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, Brooks Mims Talton, in 1984, and by her second husband, Wayne Ellis Moxley, August 7, 2010. Her brother James Hugh Johnston, Jr. died in 1935 at 10 years of age. After graduating from Magnolia High School, Juanita lived at her parents' home until her marriage in 1940. She and her husband settled in Louisiana where she spent most of her adult life. She dedicated her time and energy to raising four children, was active in her church, worked for several years at the health department and made many lifelong friends. A few years after the death of her first husband, she and a friend took a trip to Spain. On the airplane she met a widower who happened to live close to her family home in Arkansas. They were married in July, 1987. Wayne and Juanita lived in Homer and Shreveport, Louisiana, until they moved to Spring Mills in Falling Waters, WV, in 1995. They loved to dance and they loved to travel. They traveled extensively in the United States and much of the world making new friends on every trip. When the traveling days were over, they enjoyed their home, family, and friends. Juanita was a member of the Norborne Garden Club in Martinsburg and the Spring Mills Women's Club. She and Wayne attended EGO (Enjoy Growing Older) and were members of Trinity Methodist Church in Martinsburg. They moved to Homewood in October, 2009. Juanita is survived by four children: Dr. Brooks Mims Talton, Jr., and wife Gina of Limestone, TN, Dr. Hugh Johnston Talton and wife Marty of Hagerstown, MD, Melinda Gay Miller and husband Pete of Clarksville, TN, and William David Talton of St. Petersburg, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Juanita's greatest joy in life was her family. Her unwavering love, generosity, and support will be remembered always. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Hilltop Assisted Living at Homewood in Williamsport. A family burial service will take place in Magnolia, Arkansas at a later date.
