Joyce (Gregory) Stamper, 80, of Hagerstown, MD passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on December 10, 2025.

Joyce was born in Spangler, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Lois Gregory, of Patton, Pennsylvania. She was the third eldest of eight children and was well loved by all her siblings.

Joyce loved the Lord and lived that love out in her life. She practiced that love in being a devoted wife to the late Donald Stamper, a cherished mother, loving grandmother, and sister. She was the cornerstone of her family. Her home was a haven of unconditional love, support, and laughter. She had the special ability to make everyone feel valued and loved with her warm smile and her sweet laughter. The room would brighten when she entered.

In addition to her dedication to her family, Joyce's compassion touched countless lives. She was a devoted teacher at Truth Christian Academy (formerly Truth for Youth School). The many students that walked through her doors experienced her gentle nurturing spirit and have fond memories of their teacher, Mrs. Stamper.

Joyce enjoyed supporting and helping others whether it was events for grandchildren, visiting shut-ins, helping someone clean, whatever she could do to help. Joyce would do it. She found joy in attending her church, reading her Bible, visiting her family members, gardening, and being neighborly. You wouldn't have been surprised to see Joyce walking around her neighborhood, sharing her sweet cheerfulness with everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Harry Gregory, her precious son Chris, and her late husband Donald Stamper.

She is survived by her siblings, Gary (Patty), Nancy, Regina (Pat), Meade, Louise (Dave), Boyd, (Sandy), and Charlie; her daughter, Amanda and son, Matthew with his spouse Carolyn. Joyce's grandchildren: Dylan, Lane, and Corinne, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Joyce will be missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her but will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, her devotion to family, and her ability to value all she met and see them with the love and eyes of Jesus.

A celebration of life for Joyce Stamper will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11am at the Church of God Universal on 12819 Point Salem Road, Hagerstown, MD. Burial will take place at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 6-8pm.
