Joyce Marie (Driver) Shriver, 66, of Williamsport, MD, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center after a nine-month battle with pancreatic cancer and liver cancer. Born March 26, 1954 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late MaryAnn Kesselring Driver Stoner Phillips. Joyce graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1972. In 1976, she graduated from Towson State University with a degree in elementary education. She received a masters degree in early childhood education from Hood College in 1980. Joyce was employed by the Washington County Board of Education as an elementary school teacher for 35 years at Greenbrier Elementary School (1976-2011). She was a member of the Washington County Retired Educators Association and Delta Kappa Gama. Joyce was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church and The Faith Builders Sunday School Class. Joyce is survived by her husband, John M. Shriver. They were married on August 4, 1979. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, J. Michael Shriver II; a daughter, Jacqueline M. Shriver and husband, Habib; a granddaughter, Jawaria; and two sisters, Barbara A. Modica and Betty J. Norris. Private burial and graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
