JOSEPH EUGENE SMITH, 71, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. Born June 19, 1945 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Henry and Ruth Wilhinia Shields Smith. Joseph worked at Mack Truck for twenty-one years as a Cleaning Supervisor. He loved his companion, Fluffy. Joseph is survived by his fianc, Marcia Younker, Hagerstown, MD; two daughters, Connie Rouzee and husband, Terry, Hagerstown, MD and Rebecca Moody, Hagerstown, MD; a stepdaughter, Dawn and husband, Dwayne Myers, Harrisonville, PA; a son, Joseph Smith and wife, Yvonne, Martinsburg, WV; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Linda Mercer, Frederick, MD. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Roberts. Services will be held at 11am, Friday, September 9, 2016, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, MD 21740. The Rev. Bill Divelbiss will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm, Thursday, September 8, 2016.
