JOSEPH RAYMOND MILLER, III, 73, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home. Born September 20, 1942, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph R. Miller, Jr. and Norma E. Harbaugh Miller. Joe was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School class of 1960. He retired from Acme Markets, Inc. after twenty years of service. He was owner and operator of Potomac Liquors, Inc. and was a salesman for Central Motors and Dressel Welding Supply, Inc. He was active in Hagerstown Pony League, Halfway Little League, and Superior Little League. He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Medairy Lodge No. 140 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Cumberland and the Hagerstown J.C.'S. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Miller; one son, Joseph R. Miller, IV and wife, Trina of Hagerstown; one sister, Christie Beittel; six grandchildren, Tara Crosby and husband, Bill, Nina Crist, Robin Miller, Joseph Miller, V, Bradley Crist and Chelsie Crist; two great grandchildren, Tristan and Scarlett; son-in-law, Brad Crist. He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Miller and a daughter, Tracy Crist. Services will be held August 3, 2016, Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Assistant Pastor Kevin Smoot will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
