JONATHAN ANDREW HAFNER, 19, of 329 Lanafield Circle, Boonsboro, Maryland, died on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 13438 Greensburg Road, Smithsburg, Maryland. Born August 17, 1992, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of John Evan Hafner of West Virginia, and Patricia Jean Morris DeLashmutt, and husband, William, of Boonsboro, Maryland. He attended Hagerstown Community College, working toward a culinary arts degree. He was secretary of the Art Club at Hagerstown Community College. He was employed by Hagerstown Community College in the dining facility, and Mountain Gate Restaurant in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Jordan Abigail Hafner, and Emma Suzannah DeLashmutt; maternal grandmother, Lottie Morris and husband, Arthur of Smithsburg, Maryland; paternal grandmother, Esther Hafner of Kearneysville, West Virginia; and maternal great-grandmother, Carrie Powell of Smithsburg, Maryland. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Robert J. Hafner. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 20th at 3 p.m. at Welty Church of the Brethren. Rev. Michael Manthos will officiate.
