Jonathan Scott Best, affectionately known as Jon Best, passed away at his home the morning of June 14, 2018. Jon was born in Hagerstown, MD on April 15, 1993 to Jeannie Sue and Christopher Scott Best. He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School class of 2011 and was a very accomplished wrestler and grappler. His senior year, he was a medal winner in the Maryland State Wrestling tournament. Along with his teammate that year, they were the first and only to win multiple medals at the State tournament in the history of Boonsboro High School. He also placed 2nd in the distinguished North American Grappling Association (NAGA) World Championships in 2010 along with many medals in various tournaments and competitions throughout the years. Jon was deeply loved and cared for by his family and close friends. He loved to laugh. His great sense of humor and his kind heart were adored by those closest to him. He also enjoyed writing music, watching movies and great conversation. Jon is survived by his mother and father, Jeannie and Scott Best. All friends and family are invited to commemorate his life with the family. The funeral service will be held this Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11am, at Lifehouse Church, 515 E. Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, MD. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 6-9pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown.
