John Scott Shank II, 55 of Boonsboro, MD, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital. Born October 21, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of John S. Shank and the late Beth I. Norris Shank. He was a 1972 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and a 1977 graduate of Towson University with a B.A. in Business Administration. He was employed with the City of Hagerstown as the Code Administration, Building Inspector. President and Owner of Rocky Spring Enterprises, Inc. and Rocky Spring Farm. He was a member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, Hagerstown, Potomac Fish & Game, Elks Lodge 378, Sons of the American Legion Post 211, and Williamsport Red Men. He served as Treasurer of the Allen K. Graham Memorial Scholarship, and was a Board Member of the Washington County Soil Conservation District. He was a former President of the Washington County Holstein Association, and former member of the Washington County Agricultural Exposition Board of Directors. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon W. (Myers) Shank; one daughter, Carrie M. Aaron and her husband, Patrick; two sons, Thomas H. Shank and John Scott Shank III and his wife, Kristin D.; one sister, Bonnie Weddle and her husband, James; father, John S. Shank and his wife, Madeline, all of Hagerstown; father and mother in laws, Homer and Mickey Myers of Smithsburg, MD; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, 20420 Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown with Rev. Rachel Black officiating. Burial will be at the Beaver Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00-9:00 pm at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
