Obituary

John Earl Pereschuk, 85, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Doey's House. He was born on August 21, 1938 in Hagerstown to the late John Marsh Pereschuk and Pauline Dutrow Pereschuk.

John served in the United States Army and Airforce. He worked until his retirement for the State of Maryland as a Boiler Room Engineer and served as President for his local union for many years. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending his time in the great outdoors. Most of all, John will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, and for his advocacy for the rights of others.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Pereschuk, Merrill Pereschuk, Kenneth Pereschuk, Woodrow Hawkins, and Larry Pereschuk, and his sister, Barbara Stone.

He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Pereschuk, Teresa Pereschuk (Donald Smith), Cynthia Foore (Robert), and Denise Bingaman (Eric), his grandchildren, Carrie Stozek, Kayla Trout (Devin), Robert Foore, Benjamin Foore, and Amelia Foore, one great-grandchild on the way, Sophia Trout, his brothers, Arthur "Butch" Pereschuk (Sonja), Earl Pereschuk (Krista), Don Pereschuk (Jessie), Edwin "Cliff" Pereschuk (Bonnie), Gary Pereschuk (Jane), Robert Pereschuk (Kelli), and Thomas Pereschuk (Patty), his sister, Aleta Dale Irving, his brother-in-law, Millard "Gene" Stone, his sisters-in-law, Hyo Chung "Skipper" Pereschuk and Shirley Pereschuk, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Pastor Allen Robinson will officiate.

Interment will take place at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
