J. ERNEST "ERNIE" MARTIN, SR., 93, formerly of 15 Fairground Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Williamsport Nursing Home. Born November 14, 1913 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles William and Beulah Zigler Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Martha Gilland "Marty" Martin, January 26, 1984. He retired from Fairchild Aircraft after forty years of service. He was a former member of the Pegasus Club. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He is survived by three sons, C. Thomas Martin of Severna Park, Maryland, Michael F. Martin and John E. "Jack" Martin, Jr. both of Hagerstown, Maryland; four grandchildren, Scott Martin, Sheri Clotiaux, Beth Borowiec and Brooke Wood; six great grandchildren, Taylor Martin, Cameron Clotiaux, Marti Clotiaux, Zachary Martin, Samantha Martin and Madeline Wood. He was preceded by one grandson, Brad Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, with the Rev. Kevin Mueller as celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friend at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
