JOHN LOUIS MADDOX, 85 of State Line, Pennsylvania, died on Monday, March 3, 2008 in Ardmore, Tennessee. Born January 18, 1923 in Easterly, Texas, he was the son of the late John and Agnes Mosley Maddox. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belva R. Maddox. He was veteran of W.W. II, Korean War and Cuban Missile Crisis, serving in the U.S. Navy, and retiring in 1963. He is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Richmond of Hagerstown; two sons, Donald L. Maddox of Madison, Alabama and Ronald G. Maddox of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, Md. on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Graveside military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The family requests the omission of flowers.
