John George Maas, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019. He was born on October 27, 1937 to the late John Joseph Maas and Mary Mitchell Maas. John served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown. He enjoyed playing the lottery, going out to eat, and taking walks in the mall where he was always meeting new friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Mary "Betty" Vanderlyn. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann Maas, his children, Thomas John Maas and partner, Vickie, Donald James Maas and wife, Roberta, and Theresa Ann Maas and partner, James, his grandchildren, Christopher Maas and wife, Emily, Nicholas Maas, and Joseph Maas, his great-grandchildren, Lily, Brody, Ellie, Addie, and Ian, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcomed for a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 6:00pm at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E Franklin Street in Hagerstown.
