JOHN EDWARD (JACK) EVANS, 83, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his home. Born August 30, 1931 in Blakely, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ezra Richard and Mary Gertrude Graham Evans. He was previously employed with Montgomery Ward as a display manager and later at the Dual Highway Martins. Jack is survived by his wife, Carletta Ridenour Evans; three daughters, Laura Yoder and husband, Ed, Valerie Green and husband, Sheldon and Jennifer Evans; four sisters, Lois Tubaugh, Gail Lewis, Marlene Sabitus and Geraldine Miller; two brothers, Richard Evans and Wayne Evans; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Evans and a sister, Delores Sanders. Funeral services will be at 1:00p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Sheldon Green will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
