Joel David Brown, Jr., passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at the age of 54, in his hometown of Hagerstown, MD.

Born November 26, 1969, he was the son of the late Linda (Wingerd) and Joel Brown, Sr.

He attended North Hagerstown High School.

Joel's life was full of kindness and deep love for his family and friends. He was a man who never met a stranger, was always ready with a kind word, and put others before himself.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Garland (husband Tony); his son, Joel D. Brown, III; his step-grandson, Devin Garland; his sisters, Jodi Brown Pentz and Wenda Brown, nieces and nephews; and his lifelong companion, Kathy Stover.

He was avid fan of the Discovery Channel, and he enjoyed the simple pleasures like Peanut Butter sandwiches, fish sandwiches, and pizza paired with chocolate milk. His happiest moments were spent on the water, fishing and crabbing. Joel had the ability to fix almost anything.

The funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, with Pastor Shane Wilt officiating, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
