Joan Iona Jones, 79, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born March 11, 1944, in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Mary Allene Bartles and stepfather, Jack Bartles.

Joan was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, Class of 1962. She was a previous employee of Kresge's and Jane Anderson Bridal. Joan was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered for Cumberland Valley Breast Cancer Awareness.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Jones, Jr. and wife, Barbara, and David Jones; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Jones, Sr., and sister, Mary Hutchison.

The funeral will be held at 1pm on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Frank Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 6-8pm.
