Jessie Marie Ambrose, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Ravenwood Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Russell Ambrose Jr. on February 20, 1988. Born December 29, 1931 in Sharpsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Turner) Kepler. Jessie graduated from Boonsboro High School with the class of 1949. She retired from Martins Food Market. She was a woman of faith and member of Grace United Methodist Church. Jessie is survived by two sons, Russell "Rusty" Ambrose III and wife, Pam, and John Ambrose and wife, Penny; three grandchildren, Lee Ambrose, Katie McDowell and husband, Mike, and Jessica Engle and husband, Sean; four great grandchildren, Ashtyn McDowell, Charleigh McDowell, Molly McDowell, Camden Engle, and Averie Engle; two sisters, Linda Grove and husband, Ray, and Joan Miller; two nieces, Cheri Sharpless and husband, Allen, and Kelly Souryal and husband, Jeff; one great niece and four great nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Ambrose. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Jay Recto of Life House Church will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 1st, from 6 to 8pm.
