JEFFREY ( Hap ) LYNN MELLOTT, 54, of Boonsboro, MD passed away Sunday April 13, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born December 14, 1959 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James Franklin Mellott and Anna Grace Mull Mellott. Jeffrey was a very loving husband, father, and pappy, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He attended Boonsboro High School and worked for C. William Hetzer for 15 years; he enjoyed working on his cars, especially his GTO. He is survived by his wife Yuba Mellott; one son, Cohen J. Mellott and fianc Britney of Boonsboro; two daughters, Tasha Metz Eyler and her husband Jeff of Walkersville, Bethany Metz Bowers and her husband Donald of Hagerstown; two sisters, Hazel ( Jerry ) Dill, Ella Castle; two brothers, John Mellott, Joe Mellott; four grandchildren, Brooke, Cherish, Jarred, and Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeffrey is preceded by a daughter, Burgandi Mellott; one brother James ( Jim ) Mellott. Services will be held Thursday, April 17, 11:00am at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown. Pastor David Manley will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family asks to please dress casual.
