JEAN E. LOPEZ, 82, of Hagerstown went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2007. Born May 9, 1925 in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Sarah Mott Ziegler. She worked at Grumman Aircraft, Long Island, New York during World War II, where she earned a Certificate of Excellence from the U. S. Navy for her contributions in producing fighter aircraft. She was a proud "Rosie the Riveter". She was retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. where she worked in Catalog Sales. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and sang many years in the choir. She also sang in the St. Cecilia Choral Society, was a longtime member of TOPS, and had been a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts of America. She was a multiple ribbon winner for canning and baked goods in the Great Hagerstown Fair, including a Grand Champion ribbon for her prize-winning cake. She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Lopez; one daughter, Susan A. Lopez of Hagerstown; one son, Steven A. Lopez and his wife, Ami A. Lopez of Hagerstown; two grandsons, Cody R. and Samuel C. Lopez of Hagerstown; and her beloved dog, Elmo. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport, Maryland. The Rev. Mark Sandell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Western Maryland Arthritis Foundation, 22 South Market Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701, or the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
