Janette Louise McKendrick, age 83, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away, Monday, September 2, 2024.

Born on February 3, 1941, in Fairfax, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy Burke and Mary Burke.

Jan dedicated much of her life to working at Fort Belvoir and also cherished her role as a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Harrah; son, Paul Bennett; her granddaughter, Bridget Kingsborough and her husband, Kyle Kingsborough, as well as her granddaughters, Sebrina Osilka, Tabetha Martins, and Brittany Shaw, and her grandsons, Marty Bennett and Matthew Bennett. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Penelope and cat, Katniss. Jan was preceded in death by her husband Charles McKendrick and son Ricky Bennett.

Jan was a devoted Catholic. She had a deep love for old films and Harry Potter. She treasured spending time with her family, caring for her pets, and watching the Washington Commanders play.

The family will hold an intimate gathering for loved ones on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
