Born February 13, 1931, in Staten Island, NY, Janet was the only daughter of the late Frederick B. Geyer and Helen E. (Ragan) Geyer. Janet grew up in Camden, New Jersey and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She went on to further her education and graduated from Pierce Business Institute in Philadelphia, PA.

Janet utilized her skills from Pierce Business Institute as she held various secretarial positions, some of which included, but not limited to the US Department of the Navy, Navy Yard, then onto the CIA. After marrying the love of her life, Francis R. (Dick) Ford, she dedicated her life to her 4 children, her church and her community. She continued to temp and work and held many secretarial positions, volunteering, part & full-time work at a variety of Catholic Churches within the communities our family grew up in. Janet lived the duration of her life in Hagerstown, MD, where she also volunteered many years prior to becoming part of the staff at St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Janet was always a busy homemaker, spending time crafting, sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking, as was known by all the neighbors. She often baked all the delicious treats for the neighbor's children. She spent many adventures with her husband Dick, traveling to many places such as Branson, MO, Anchorage, Alaska, Los Angeles, CA, Phoenix & Sedona, Arizona and New Orleans, LA, just to name a few.
