I want to take the time to tell you how much you have meant to me throughout my life. The truth is, I really don't think god could have blessed me with a better mother. I know everyone says that, and we all have our reasons but I truly believe it. As far back as I can remember, which is right around the preschool chapter of my life, you were there for us at every turn, twist, and tumble. You were there for the school functions, the sports events, graduations, and marriages. You were there to nurse the scrapes, the cuts, the bruises, and the illnesses (ohhh those chicken pox). You were there to provide an ear, and a shoulder in the times when we were down. You were there to provide guidance when we needed it. You know how messy we were and how clean you liked things to be. I can still hear you fussing us today to "pick up your room". Of course that was followed by a smart remark like "my room is way too heavy to pick up". Usually those exchanges ended with the ever dreaded closer-"wait until your daddy gets home". Anyway, I hope that we weren't too much of a problem for you over the years. As I reflect back the good times far out way any of the bad. The great memories that we collected will be fondly replayed for many years to come. The trips to Monterey, Tennessee to spend time with Grandma and Dad-Dad. The trips to Dayton, Ohio to spend time with Harold and Mary Ann (and all the rest of the Ohio family). The trips to Florida were gems of memories. Daytona Beach and Disney are trips that I take my family on even today I'll never forget the time you stayed out on the beach and got the worst sun burn I think I've witnessed in my life time. The small trips to Greenbrier and small family gatherings that always had that one thread that always drove dad crazy. That thread-you making enough food to feed an army. Every single holiday, especially Christmas, you went out of your way to make them as magical and as special as you could. I'll always have a special love for family and the holidays because of you. At some point as we traveled through our lives we started to notice that we were losing part of you. As painful as it was to face it, we knew exactly what was happening because we saw the same disease steal Grandma from us over the years. Painful because you, of all people, didn't deserve to be dealt this fate. You selflessly took care of Dad-Dad as cancer took him, and simultaneously Grandma as Alzheimer's took her. The way that you have always taken care of us and the way that you saw things through with Grandma and Dad-Dad is something of amazement. Yet, we watched year after year as this heinous disease slowly took you from us. I knew the last time you left the house, when I talked you into taking that ambulance ride, we going to be the last time you were as the house. We exchanged a look, and somehow, I knew. You were taken from us rapidly after that and left as just a shell of yourself. I know that there is a place in heaven for you because in my eyes, you were already a saint while you were here. I know that you are going to a much better place than this and you deserve to be there more than anyone. Say hi to Grandma, Dad-Dad, Uncle Ronnie and everyone else when you get there. I have and always will love you more than anything. I'll continue to miss you always. Love, Jimmy
