JANE ELIZABETH FLURIE, 85, of Williamsport, MD, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center. Born March 15, 1930 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late J. William and Ruth Chestnut Schnebly. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the original soccer mom, transporting to and attending various sporting events for her six children. She was an active member of Christ's Reformed Church, serving in various capacities and singing in the choir for a number of years. She was also a long-time member of the St. Patrick's Chorale. She was an excellent homemaker whose culinary skills provided many large family meals, especially around the Christmas season. She had the gift of humor, which will live on with her children. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene G. Flurie; three daughters, Michele Veirtz and husband, Gary of St. Thomas, PA, Mary Unruh of Hagerstown, and Rebecca Martin and husband, Rodney of Middletown, MD; three sons, Michael Flurie and wife Ranelle of Hagerstown, Benjamin Flurie of Flinstone, MD, and David Flurie and wife, Carmen of Bedford, PA; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret; and two brothers, John and Andy. Services will be held 11am Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Dr. Gregg R. Meserole will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Reformed Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.
