Jane Cook "Cookie" English, 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Sterling Care Nursing Home in Boonsboro, MD, where she had resided for the past eight years.

Born September 8, 1944, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the only child of Benjamin Ernest "Earnie" and Margaret L. (Williams) English.

Cookie graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1962. She was a long-time member of The Presbyterian Church in Hagerstown where she sang in children's and adult choirs and was a handbell ringer. She transferred to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and sang in the Chancel Choir.

Cookie was a journalist/reporter for The Herald-Mail Newspaper and for WHAG Radio Station before her retirement.

There will be a brief graveside service at 2:00pm Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A memorial service is expected to be planned in January at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
