JAMES ALBERT TURVIN, 77, of 12012 Waltz Road, Smithsburg, Maryland, died on Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home. Born August 5, 1935, in Alabama, he was the son of the late James Alto and Connie Elizabeth Ellis Turvin. He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved to fish. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Turvin; two daughters, Dawn Ortiz and husband, "Butch" of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Connie Turvin and husband, Frank, of Smithsburg; three sons, James Turvin, and wife, Rene, of West Virginia, Jimmy Turvin, and wife, Becky, of Smithsburg, and Earl "Lynn" Turvin and companion, Celsta, of South Carolina; two brothers; fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren . He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Lee Turvin, and Jeffery Allen Turvin; and a sister, Jenny Hartzog. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Johnny Turvin will officiate. Burial will be in Blair's Valley Church of God Cemetery. Graveside military honors provided by Washington Co. AMVETS Post #10 and Marine Corp. League of Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m. The family requests donations to help defray the cost of the funeral expenses.
