James Robert Pendleton, 77, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020. He was born on February 9, 1943 in Hagerstown to the late Guy Briggs and Ava Irene (Summers) Pendleton.
James was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School. After high school, he served in the U. S. Navy for four years. He was a Pressman at Reynolds and Reynolds, formerly Arnold Graphics. He loved to travel and achieved his dream of visiting Antarctica. James attended First Christian Church and was a member of Goodwill Athletic Club. He loved to read, dining out with family and friends, and he especially loved his granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy A. Rogers; two brothers, Guy Briggs and Jack E Pendleton, and a nephew, John Rogers.
James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela Pendleton; his daughter Stephanie S. Marquiss and husband, Richard; two granddaughters, Eden and Logenne Marquiss; a great-grandson, Elias Gagnon and two nephews, Robert Pendleton and James Rogers.
Burial will be private and at the discretion of the family.
