James Edward Mellon Jr., 69, of Cumberland, MD, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, in Hagerstown, MD. Born on September 1, 1955, in Cumberland, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and sibling. James is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bonnie Mellon; his sons, David Mellon and James Mellon III with his wife Jessica; his cherished grandchildren, Colton, Zackary, and Sarah; his brother, Donnie Mellon; and sister, Debbie Wadle.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Whitacre.

A proud 1973 graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, James was renowned for his skillful hands as a welder at Cumberland Valley Fabricators, where he dedicated many years of craftsmanship.

James's kind spirit and expert contributions to his trade and community leave a legacy that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
