James Markwood Martin, 89, of State Line, PA, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his home under the care of Hospice of Franklin County.

Born September 7, 1933, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Lloyd K. Martin and Mary (Kretzer) Martin, and stepmother, N. Virginia (Horst) Martin.

James retired from Jamison Door Company in 1998 with 32 years of service. He lived life always ready to help others with a happy spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Barbara (Thomas) Martin; brother, Stephen Martin; sisters, Norma Bollinger and Genevieve Martin; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Clifford, Emory, Marvin, Jason, and Gideon Martin; and sisters, Almeda Barnhart, Violet Hege, Lois Sensenig, and Anabelle Young.

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 11am with Pastor Joe Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
