JAMES WILLIAM HORNING, SR., 75, of Falling Waters, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Berkeley Medical Center. Born, November 20, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Samuel Jacob and Viletta Velzara Young Horning. James drove trucks for most of his life and was always known by his CB handle, "Drive Shaft". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. James is survived by his wife, Norma Horning, five sons, James William Horning, Jr., Jeffrey Wayne Horning, Samuel Lee Horning, Paul Brian Horning and James Robert Horning; a daughter, Tina Marie Horning; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Horning Thomas and Ollive Horning Schuchman, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Theodore Horning and five sisters, Viola Rudy, Dollie Horning, Betty Lehman, Ruth Horst and Peggy Horning. Services will be held at 6pm, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
