JAMES PRUE HILL, 87, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital. Born October 25, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late James W. and Irene Prue Hill. He graduated from Oberlin College in 1943 with a B.A. in Chemistry. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was employed with E. I. Dupont for thirty-six years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mills Hill, in June of 2004. He is survived by one daughter, Jackie Baker of Fallston, Maryland; two sons, Jim Hill of East Kingston, New Hampshire, and Robert Hill of Ringgold, Maryland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Madalyn Hartman. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 South Prospect Street, Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Scott Bellows will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
