JAMES LAWRENCE "JIMMY" HENSON, JR., 63, of 8629 Sharpsburg Pike, Fairplay, Maryland, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital. Born January 1, 1947 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of James L. Henson, Sr. of Hagerestown, and Zelma Jacobs Lushbaugh of Hagerstown. He was a 1965 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U. S. Navy. He was employed with Consolidated Freight Ways and Ryder-PIE for twenty-five years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Teamsters Local 992, and the Funkstown American Legion Post 211. He was a professional billiard player, playing on the U. S. Circuit, a former National Champion, and a member of the Professional Pool Association. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his companion of twenty-four years, Lisa C. Truax; one son, John W. Henson of Hagerstown; one sister, Patty Powley of Rockville, Maryland; two brothers, Terry Henson of Boone, North Carolina, and Michael Gorman of Alabama; step-mother, Claudette Henson of Hagerstown; step-father, Harrison L. "Tiny" Lushbaugh of Hagerstown; and his former wife, Ella Mae Weaver of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeff Henson, and Dennis Henson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p. m.
