JAMES RAYMOND HANEY, 65, passed away on January 15, 2013, at his home in Hagerstown, Maryland. Jim was born on June 25, 1947, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late Charles and Gilberta Haney. Jim and his family relocated to Hagerstown in 1962. Jim graduated from North Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, in 1965, and from the Washington County Hospital School of Radiological Technology, in 1967. Jim worked for the Washington County Hospital as a Nuclear Medicine technologist, where he was employed for thirty-six years, retiring in 2004. Jim married Peggy Ann Lucas in 1968 in Manchester, Connecticut. They were happily married for forty-four years. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hagerstown. He was also a member of the Funkstown American Legion Post 211, and SAL squad (Sons of the American Legion). Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandson, Guerin, and his two dogs, Maggie and Katey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Becky McNabb, and her significant other, Bob Stottlemyer, of Hagerstown, and Jessica Skiles, and her husband, Ryan, and grandson, Guerin Skiles, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Haney of Bradenton, Florida. A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
