JACOB EUGENE SIGLER, 84, of Broadmore Assisted Living At Hagerstown and formerly of 17401 Wolford Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Washington County Hospital. Born December 20, 1921 in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Jacob W. and Irene Long Sigler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena E. Sigler in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II in England. He retired from Sears Automotive after twenty years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Morris Frock Post 42 Americans Legion. He was a member of the Antietam Radio Club and a previous member of the Hagerstown Power Squadron. He played baseball for Fairchild and other teams. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald W. Sigler. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Rev. Thom C. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
