Jacob 'Jake' Walter Shank, 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living.

Born January 7, 1934, in Big Pool, MD, he was the son of the late Garrett Eugene and Margaret Louise (Hastings) Shank.

He was a graduate of Clear Spring High School, Class of 1951. Jacob was employed with Hagerstown City Light Department for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a former member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Imogene "Gene" Shank; one son, Brian Shank, and wife, Lisa; three grandchildren, Amanda Bowers, and husband, Joshua, Alexis Shank, and Adam Shank; and one great grandson, Jacob Bowers.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Shank; and two half-brothers, Medford and Harold Shank.

There will be no services.
