Jack Douglas Moats, 81, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at his home.

Born May 25, 1943, in Downsville, MD, he was the son of Russell Richardson and Dorothy Marie (Trumpower) Moats.

Jack retired from Martin Marietta working at the Boonsboro Quarry. He previously worked at Maryland Ribbon Company.

Jack is survived by two sons, Jason Moats and Gary Moats; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Elva (Bunny) Snyder; and one sister-in-law, Betty Cole.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra "Nanny" June (Kidwell) Moats; one son, William Moats; five brothers, Wayne J., Vernon E., Robert L., Walter R., and James G. Moats; and three sisters, Mary L. Bond, Patsy M. Clark, and Linda B. Reed.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, May 23, 2025, at Minnich Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Young officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
