JACK CARLISLE GARNS, 85, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center. He resided with his son, Eric Garns for the last year at 1526 Crestview Avenue, Hagerstown. Born December 18, 1927, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary E. Dixon Garns. He served in the U. S. Army, during the post WWII era. He retired from Conrail. He was a member of Williamsport Redmen Club, the Goodwill Athletic Club (Little Club), and the Williamsport American Legion, Post 202. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, friends, and fellow members of the organizations he belonged to. He is survived by one daughter, Monja Lesh, and husband, Richard; two sons, Eric Garns and Michael Garns, and wife, Tracy; one brother, Paul Pottenger; and four grandchildren, Courtney, Mason, Bethany, and Diamond, all of Hagerstown.
