IRVIN FRANKLIN GOLDEN, 89, of Hagerstown, Md. died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center. Born May 1, 1921 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Iva Belle Drury Golden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Elva Golden who died March 10, 2008. He served in the U.S. Air Force during W.W. II He was past commander and a life-time member of American Legion, Post 42, Voiture 651 of the 40 and 8, life member of the DAV, and the Western Maryland Sportsmen's Club, also a member of Interstate Coin Club, Woodmen of the World and Antietam Amature Radio Club. He is survived by two brothers, Lee E. Golden of Greencastle, Pa., Raymond E. (Jay) Golden of Clear Spring, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul M. Golden and two sisters, Ethel Golden and Hilda Cameron. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral.
